How to check DACA and work permit status together
Last updated August 20, 2026
Case Status is a private tracker for two USCIS forms: I-821D (DACA) and I-765 (work permit). It explains both receipts in one place using data from your own signed-in myUSCIS session. It does not predict a decision or replace official notices.
On a computer
The Chrome extension is the simplest path when you already use Google Chrome.
- Install Case Status — DACA & Work Permit from the Chrome Web Store.
- Sign in to myUSCIS in the same browser. Case Status never asks for your password.
- Open the extension, enter both receipt numbers, and choose check both cases.
- Open the full dashboard on cstatus.us if you want the longer timeline in one view.
On a phone
There is no mobile extension. While official website API access is pending, IOE cases can use a private copy-and-paste check.
- Sign in to myUSCIS on your phone.
- Enter your I-821D and I-765 receipt numbers on the Case Status homepage.
- Open each unofficial case-data link, copy the JSON, and paste it once into the matching box.
- Choose Explain both cases. The JSON is parsed in this browser tab and is not uploaded to CStatus.
USCIS can change or remove that unofficial endpoint without notice. Never paste a password, verification code, or session cookie.
What you will see
For each form, Case Status shows the official USCIS wording when it is available, a short plain-language summary, filing and update dates, and internal codes after the filing date. It does not guess whether an internal touch came from a person or a computer.
What Case Status does not do
It does not file forms, change your place in line, store your case on a CStatus server, or give legal advice. For legal decisions, use the official USCIS checker and the notices in your account.
How do I check my DACA and work-permit status with Case Status?
On a computer, install the Case Status Chrome extension, sign in to your own myUSCIS account, and enter your I-821D and I-765 receipt numbers. On a phone, sign in to myUSCIS, copy each case JSON once, and paste it into the matching box on cstatus.us.
Does Case Status replace the official USCIS website?
No. Case Status explains the two DACA-related receipts from your own myUSCIS session. Official notices and myUSCIS remain the source for legal decisions.
Do I need an account on Case Status?
No. Case Status does not create accounts. You only sign in to your own USCIS account.
