DACA work permit Form I-765, tracked with your DACA case

Last updated August 20, 2026

Form I-765 is the Application for Employment Authorization. For DACA, this is usually the work-permit case that sits next to Form I-821D. Case Status shows both receipts together so card-production updates are not separated from the DACA filing.

What Form I-765 is

USCIS uses I-765 to decide employment authorization for many categories, including DACA. The form is not DACA itself. Official form information is on uscis.gov/i-765.

Why the work permit has its own receipt

USCIS assigns a separate 13-character receipt to I-765. Status text such as card production, mailing, or delivery is often attached to that receipt. If you only check I-821D, you can miss those updates. CStatus asks for both numbers and keeps each form in its own slot.

How to check an I-765 receipt here

Use the same Case Status steps as DACA: Chrome extension on a computer, or a one-time JSON paste on a phone for IOE receipts. The tool verifies that the I-765 slot actually belongs to Form I-765 before it explains the data.

Card codes without guessing

When USCIS includes card-related codes, Case Status labels them in plain language and still tells you to confirm the official notice. It will not treat a code alone as proof that a card was printed or delivered.

What is Form I-765?

Form I-765 is the Application for Employment Authorization. For DACA, it is the work-permit filing that usually accompanies Form I-821D. Case Status can explain one I-765 receipt next to the related I-821D receipt.

How do I check my DACA work permit status?

Use the I-765 receipt number from your USCIS notice with Case Status, together with your I-821D receipt. Card production and delivery updates often appear on the I-765, not on the DACA form.

Can Case Status tell me when my EAD card will arrive?

No. Case Status can show card-related codes and official USCIS wording after they appear in your case data. It does not predict mailing dates.
